In the latest attempt to answer the anthropological question of whether DNA or anatomy provides the better clue to understanding evolution, researchers at Stony Brook University have published a study that turns conventional wisdom on its prehistoric head.
Anatomy can be just as informative as DNA in determining relationships between fossils and living animals, according to a study by Christopher Gilbert, an anthropology doctoral candidate at the university, and James Rossie, an assistant professor.
